Welcome to your TQUK Level 3 Paediatric First Aid course, which is ideal for anyone who needs to complete a regulated paediatric first aid course and prefers a blended learning approach. During this section, you will learn about how the course works, and what to expect during your training. You will learn about common injuries in children and accident reporting. We also cover the Emergency Services (EMS), different types of PPE, and first aid kits. Finally, you will learn about initial assessment and the recovery position.

In this section, we look at Adult, Child, and Infant CPR, and knowing when to call for assistance. You will learn about the resuscitation of children, and fears of first aid when it comes to giving CPR. You will also learn about seizures, cardiac arrest, and drowning. This section includes tips on how to improve your compressions and breaths and performing CPR in the current climate with Coronavirus and Covid-19.

In this section, we look at heart attacks and strokes. Although more common in adults, children can suffer strokes and heart conditions too, so it is important to know what to do in these circumstances.

In this section, we cover choking in infants, children, older children, and adults. We look at how to recognise the signs of choking, and how to deal with and treat someone who is choking.

In this section, you will learn about the different types of bleeding, and how to treat and manage these. We cover serious bleeding, excessing bleeding, and embedded objects. You will learn about minor injuries, such as minor cuts and blisters, nose bleeds, and also other types of injury which may occur. Finally, we look at the healing process and the duration in which the body starts to repair the injuries we have talked about throughout.

In this section we look at secondary care, dealing with illness and injury which can still be life-threatening but where you usually have more time to act. You will learn how to treat and manage certain illnesses and injuries you may encounter, and when you may need to contact the Emergency Services.

In the summary, we look at how to complete the final test and print off your completion certificate. This section also contains important information on how to complete the practical part of your qualification.
